Yesterday I had my swine flu vaccination. I asked if I needed a second one and was told that I didn't. However, last night I made the mistake of reading the information sheet and it says that people with impaired immune systems should have two. I 'phoned the surgery today and was told that yes, I should have a second one. So it's worth asking if you're not sure.

I was of the understanding that you had to have it twice too, my mum has just had her first one and was told she would be invited for her secound one by post!! thought you had to have it so many weeks after?? Iv not been invited for mine yet so may bring it up when I see GP tomoz.

The GP said three weeks after the first for the second. I was given a second appointment after I had the first jab on Monday.

I have mine three weeks after Jean but I have noticed some are 2 weeks. It seems there are many different ideas on these swine flu jabs. Glenys.

I've just heard on the news that swine flu has turned out to be considerably less lethal than they expected so I'll stick with my decision not to have the jab.

Hi i have just had my second jab only by chance. I work with children and phoned the docs yesterday as swine flu is going round at school they asked me to come today but the nurse said they should have told me to have a second one 3 weeks after my first jab.

question for you all. i had my first injection on friday ( second one due 6th jan) well since then i am so sore and stiff in all my joints. is iy cause of the jab or something else i've has to get the walking stick out of storage. the area around the jab is hard and feels bruised. will this go or should i contact my gp?

Hi all
had my first one of 2 yesterday, felt rough yesterday and then the arm hurts today.
it will wear off.
Better that than the swine flu carrying me or Bernice off.
2nd jab after Christmas now.

Lynne, ever since I had the swine flu jab all the bits of me that normally hurt seem to be hurting more. It could be because the weather's got colder, of course, but it does seem a but of a coincidence! I always have pain in my right upper arm anyway, so it's hard to tell whether that's worse or not, but I don't seem to have the swollen lump that lots of people get.

Finally got 'on the list' and had my first jab on Saturday. It turns out that, as my RTX & MTX are prescribed initially by the Hospital and are not on the surgery repeat prescription list, my name did not come up on the priority list. Now they have twigged that this is happening, they will do a more in-depth search. Only side effects seen so far have been a slightly sore arm and a red patch about 5cm diameter about the injection site - but then we are quite used to having sore bits! RichardL

Well thank you everyone, work at a drs surgery , not my own, but where i had my jab and no-one has mentioned a second jab, will make further enquiries on Thursday when next in, I also read from my surgery that those living in the household should also get a jab ???????? interestingly i have not had anything at all from my own surgery!!!! I could of course assume that they have assumed I will deal with it at work......................
apart from a sore arm for a day or two no probs.
